Benson: Charlton striker has been the subject of an enquiry from new Bradford boss Phil Parkinson
New Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson has enquired about the availability of Charlton Athletic striker Paul Benson.
Skysports.com revealed at the weekend that Charlton had accepted offers of £150,000 from four clubs for Benson, who saw a move to Notts County fall through earlier this summer.
Parkinson has already raided his old club to make Kyel Reid his first signing and he is familiar with Benson, having brought him to Valley Parade during his tenure as Addicks boss.
"Benno [Paul Benson] is a player who is available and someone that we have enquired about in the last 24 hours," Parkinson told the Bantams' official website.
"Equally though, he is not the only one that we have been speaking to. I've been speaking to numerous people in the last 24 hours as time is against us.
"If we can't get any more permanent signings in to add to the Kyel Reid one then the loan window opens again seven days after Wednesday and we may have to use that market.
"Either way, I am determined to add to this squad."
