Johnson hints at Harrad exit

Northampton boss Gary Johnson has suggested striker Shaun Harrad may leave as he is not part of his first-team plans.

Harrad joined the Cobblers in January and amassed 19 league goals last season for Northampton and previous club Burton. But Johnson, who arrived in March, has since bolstered his attacking options with the arrivals of Adebayo Akinfenwa and Jake Robinson, pushing Harrad further down the pecking order. "Shaun can't be part of my plans at this minute because he's got an ankle problem," Johnson told BBC Radio Northampton. "But he's one that may need to seek pastures new. Footballers are either part of your plans or they're not."
