Frimpong & Kelly pull out

Duo will not play for England U-21 this week

Frimpong: Will not play for England against Azerbaijan & Israel

Emmanuel Frimpong and Martin Kelly have been forced out of the England Under 21 team to face Azerbaijan and Israel in the coming days because of injury.

Frimpong, who had received his maiden call-up from manager Stuart Pearce, sat out Arsenal's 8-2 defeat at Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday because of suspension, but is also suffering from a foot injury.

On the other hand, Kelly could play just 30 minutes of Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday after picking up a hamstring problem and has ruled himself out of contention for the two matches.

England take on Azerbaijan in the European Under-21 Championship qualifier on Thursday and play a friendly against Israel four days later.
