Sheffield Wednesday are in talks to sign former Newcastle and Portsmouth striker Lomana LuaLua.
The 30-year-old Congolese international is a free agent following his release from Cypriot club Omonia this summer and knows Owls chairman Milan Mandaric from their time together at Pompey.
Manager Gary Megson told the Sheffield Star: "We're just having talks with him to see if we can come to an agreement. That's as far as it's gone.
"Milan knows him from his time at Portsmouth. We're seeing if we can agree something that suits both parties but that hasn't happened yet."
