Arsenal could miss out on Hamburg winger Eljero Elia, as Juventus continue to discuss a deal.
Reports have suggested the Italian club want the Holland international on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.
But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has been criticised for limited transfer activity, is rumoured to be set to submit a late cash offer ahead of Wednesday's deadline.
Juventus are still in negotiations and Klaus Vink, general director of the agency which looks after Elia, claims there are ongoing issues to discuss.
Vink told calicomercato.com: "We are dealing with Juventus, but right now there is no real news.
"There are several things which we must discuss. We need the time. I think we can complete the transfer within the window."
