Newcastle have yet to follow up interest in Charlton goalkeeper Rob Elliot after they had one bid for the stopper turned down.
Magpies boss Alan Pardew, who gave Elliot his debut in 2008 when he was in charge at The Valley, has had one bid for the 25-year-old turned down.
"They've made one bid, which has been rejected and we haven't heard anything from them since," said current Addicks boss Chris Powell.
"Things will only develop if they do come back. They're the only club who have picked up the phone and made an official enquiry and a bid, so nothing has developed there."
Elliot will be out of contract at the end of the season and, with talks on a new deal having stalled, the club are eager not to lose him for nothing.
