Liverpool have been handed a boost with the news that Raul Meireles' injury is not as serious as first feared.
Meireles was forced off after just 20 minutes of Wednesday's Carling Cup win at Exeter with a collar bone injury following an awkward fall.
It was feared that the Portuguese ace could be sidelined for a lengthy period with the problem, but Reds boss Kenny Dalglish revealed Meireles will only be out of action for up to two weeks.
"It's his collar bone that is damaged, but it's only a week or two," said Dalglish.
"We've been quite fortunate with that. A week or two will be the maximum."
