Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has made defenders Simon King and Garry Richards available for loan at their requests.
Hessenthaler, who has a squad of 27 players at Priestfield, had initially been reluctant to send any squad players on loan, but after King and Richards signalled their intentions, the Gills boss accepted their request.
Hessenthaler told the club's official website: "I didn't really want to let any players out at this present time because I would like to keep everybody together, but you have to respect players' wishes.
"They are two great lads and they have been very good for this football club. I couldn't ask for two better professionals.
"There is no rush, but when two players come to you like that, you just have to respect them and try to help them."
