Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has confirmed the club are close to finalising a deal to sign Czech Republic international Lukas Magera.
The striker, who has been likened to compatriot Jan Koller, watched Swindon's 2-1 defeat by Oxford United on Sunday and is expected to sign a two-year contract.
Di Canio wants to pair Magera with fellow new signing Leon Clarke and he is looking forward to adding the 28-year-old's presence to his squad.
"He is very strong and has caps for his national team," said Di Canio in the Swindon Advertiser.
"He is not yet sharp, when you look at a player like him he gives you many options. He is good for when we may not be able to play on the ground, but he is also good with the ball at his feet.
"We will have to use that option sometimes, especially when we go to places where the pitch is not that good.
"He is a massive player but also has good technique. He is a natural attacker with this size who can attack the box, get in front of his opponents and flick the ball and hold the ball up.
"We need another option and Magera would be the main striker along with Leon Clarke. He will offer a lot of good things for us."
