Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have rejected reports they are showing an interest in Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo.
The Germans were expected to make a €10m (£8.7m) bid after the Viola stated he would only be sold abroad.
Montolivo is expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes as he is now in the final year of his contract.
Bayern's decision not to pursue a potential deal for the Italy international could leave the door open for Arsenal to make a move.
"There is no truth in the rumours linking Bayern with Montolivo," director of sport Christian Nerlinger told Abendzeitung.
"We will not be signing any more players this summer."
