Norwich City's newest signing Daniel Ayala insists it was an easy decision to quit Liverpool for the newly-promoted Canaries.
The 20-year-old was well down the pecking order at Anfield and he was keen to play regularly elsewhere.
Having got the taste of first-team football on loan with the likes of Hull City and Derby, the Spaniard was seeking a fresh challenge.
Few are giving Norwich a chance of staying up this term, but Ayala sees no reason why Paul Lambert's side cannot survive.
"It wasn't a difficult decision to join Norwich," Ayala told the pink'un.
"I was at Liverpool but it was difficult - I have to play first-team football and that's why I came to Norwich - to play first-team football.
"Anywhere you go, you have to fight for your place. So I am happy to have the competition and, hopefully, I can be in the first XI on Sunday.
"It is a big challenge to stay in the Premier League, but I think Norwich have the quality to stay in the Premier League this season."
