Crewe boss says Watford have not shown an interest in the striker

Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi has dismissed reports that Watford have made a bid to sign striker Shaun Miller. Gradi revealed earlier in the week that he would not stand in Miller's way of stepping up to a higher level after he scored 19 goals in League Two last season. The 23-year-old has also notched twice so far this term and has been linked with moves to Championship side Watford and League One promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town. Reports claimed the Hornets had offered £500,000 for Miller, but Gradi insists there have been no bids for the forward. "I saw the story in the newspapers linking Shaun to Watford and you cannot always believe what you read there," Gradi told the club's official website. "I actually spoke with the Watford manager (Sean Dyche) two days before that story came out and he never mentioned Shaun to me. "Then I read that Watford were interested in buying him. We have not had one offer from anyone for any of our players."
