Barcelona could be without forward Alexis Sanchez for their Uefa Super Cup clash against Porto next week because of injury.
The Chile international suffered an injury to a muscle in his left leg during the pre-match warm-up ahead of their encounter with Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
Coach Pep Guardiola was forced to pull Sanchez out of his starting line-up and replace him with Pedro following the advice of the club doctors, but the Spanish and European champions went on to win a controversial second-leg fixture 3-2 to clinch the Supercopa 5-4 on aggregate.
However, Barca have now stated that Sanchez will be out of action for at least a week after a medical test on him verified the extent of the damage, putting his participation in the Super Cup into doubt.
The Catalan giants, who won the Champions League in May by defeating Manchester United 3-1 in the final at Wembley, will confront last season's Europa League winners Porto in the one-off encounter in Monaco on 26th August.
