Forward is glad that Villa signed the winger from Wigan

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent is relishing the chance to play alongside summer signing Charles N'Zogbia this season. N'Zogbia joined Villa from Wigan Athletic for £9.5million and made his Premier League debut for the Villans in their goalless away draw with Fulham last weekend. Bent played with the Frenchman at Craven Cottage and appears to have thoroughly enjoyed it, and says that he is looking forward to building a partnership with him. "Charles and Marc Albrighton are top players," he told the Birmingham Mail. "I am licking my lips at the prospect of getting on the end of some of their crosses. "Charles came in for the game against Fulham and even though he only played for an hour, there were still some wicked balls he sent in during his time out on the pitch. "Once he gets a bit more match sharpness, he'll be superb. I can't wait for that. I am relishing it."

A complete attacker

Bent continued: "The great thing is it's not just about crossing and supplying for Charles, he can score goals too." "He can finish and that is only going to be good for me. If he's not crossing, he'll be letting fly at goal and if the keeper saves it, I'll be there to tap in the rebound." The 27-year-old England international is also enthusiastic to have the much experienced former Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given between the posts this campaign.
Given is class
"He's incredible in training," enthused Bent of the 35-year-old, who moved from Manchester City. "I said before he even arrived here that he's one of the best in the country and hard to play against. "In training, he's always making saves and making it hard for the strikers. I think he's a top, top goalkeeper. "He's been in my team quite a lot in training so I haven't had much chance to shoot against him." Alex McLeish's Villa host Blackburn Rovers in the league on Saturday.
