Sunderland manager Steve Bruce believes the former Manchester United players at the Stadium of Light are bringing a positive mentality to the squad.
Bruce made a double raid on reigning Premier League champions United this summer with the acquisition of John O'Shea and Wes Brown, while Red Devils youngster Danny Welbeck spent time on loan at the club last season.
The Black Cats boss also brought in Fraizer Campbell two years ago, while his predecessor Roy Keane signed Kieran Richardson and Phil Bardsley from Old Trafford.
Summer signings O'Shea and Brown joined Sunderland after more than a decade with Sir Alex Ferguson's side, and Bruce feels their attitude and experience are proving valuable.
"The one thing that you know they will bring you if they have spent years at Old Trafford is a fantastic mental attitude," Bruce told the Northern Echo.
"When you get players who have been there that long they know what they are doing and how to approach the game.
"You don't spend ten years at a club like United and not bring that mentality - the likes of Wes and O'Shea have it and they have brought it to us.
"If that helps us this season then great. That's what we signed them for - as well as their ability - and hopefully their experience will rub off on the players that around them."
