Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal will not be signing Juan Mata while adding the club have also not been in talks for Brazilian playmaker Jadson.
Spain international Mata has been a target for the Gunners for much of the summer but Wenger says the Valencia man will not be moving to Emirates Stadium before the transfer window closes.
Wenger has refused to divulge why the North Londoners will not be signing the 23-year-old as he opted against giving a reason for the transfer not coming to fruition.
"We will not do (a deal for) Juan Mata. I don't have to give a reason," he stated.
Meanwhile, Wenger, who looks set to lose Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri over the next few days, also distanced himself from a move for Brazilian playmaker Jadson, who is valued at around £10million by his club Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Gunners have been linked with the Samba star for some time and, despite the prospect of losing two midfielders this month, the club are not actively seeking Jadson as a possible replacement.
"We are nowhere near on Jadson. We are not talking to Shakhtar about him," he concluded.
