MK Dons boss Karl Robinson expects Sam Baldock to be the subject of further interest from 'big clubs' before the transfer window closes.
The Milton Keynes club accepted an offer for the 22-year-old striker from Peterborough in June but the deal broke down.
"With the talent he's got we're always going to be batting off big football clubs," Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio. "Sam's happy playing his football here until the right club comes along for him to further his career.
"We accepted £1.2million and it's got to be at that point before the club will start listening to anything else. That's not pricing him out of the ball park because he's that type of player and he possesses that quality."
Robinson added: "He deserves a fantastic career but he needs to start scoring goals on a consistent basis and keeping himself fit.
"People will always question him missing chances but I'll back him against anybody, he's one of the best I've worked with."
