Wolves head into new season on back of defeat

An inexperienced Wolves team was beaten 3-1 by local side Telford in their final pre-season friendly at New Bucks Head. The Blue Square Premier side took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Will Salmon's cross was diverted into his own goal by young Wolves defender Jamie Reckord. Shane Killock's close-range header then doubled the hosts' lead just before half-time. Wolves striker Sam Winnall pulled one back for Wolves with around 30 minutes remaining, but Telford wrapped up the win when Greg Mills scored a long range free-kick in stoppage time.
