Sky Sports sources understand West Brom are set to complete their search for another goalkeeper by signing Marton Fulop.
Having already signed Ben Foster on a season-long loan, Baggies boss Roy Hodgson has been in the market for a second shot-stopper to provide competition for places.
Reports had linked Chris Kirkland with a return to the Premier League club, but Fulop, 28, has instead emerged as the man to move to The Hawthorns.
The Ipswich player is one year into a two-year contract at Portman Road following his arrival from Tottenham last summer.
But the possibility to return to the top flight could prove too tempting and the deal could soon be concluded.
