St Etienne have completed the signing of Sunderland midfielder Steed Malbranque.
The 31-year-old was a huge fans' favourite following his arrival from Tottenham in 2008.
Malbranque has been allowed to move by Steve Bruce, who has brought in no less than nine players this summer.
St Etienne confirmed the deal on their website, revealing he had penned a two-year deal.
The transfer means Malbranque returns to France for the first time since leaving Lyon in 2001 when he joined Fulham.
