Park Ji-sung is to sign his contract extension with Manchester United after 'discrepancies' over the length of the deal were ironed out.

The 30-year-old has been with United since 2005 and he has become an integral member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad.

He is now set to pen a new two-year deal after his father - Park Hyun-jong - confirmed talks had been finalised following some issues they had.

"I think both sides will be able to sign the new contract in early August, before the Premier League season kicks off," Hyun-jong told the Korean Times.

"We first had discrepancies on the length of the contract terms, but it is now all settled.

"Actually the 'two-year' deal was initially proposed from our side."
