Pesch nervy as defence lacking

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido is sweating on the fitness of three key defenders for the opening game of the season at Torquay.

Aaron Webster and Nathan Stanton both missed Albion's final pre-season friendly at AFC Telford at the weekend because of injury, while Tony James was taken off after just half an hour of the 1-1 draw because of a groin problem. Peschisolido expects James and Webster to be fit in time for the trip to Plainmoor on Saturday but admits Stanton, who twisted his knee in training, is a cause for concern. "Aaron has done his ankle. I don't think it's long term. I think Aaron will be all right for Torquay to be honest," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "Stanton picked up a little knee injury in training, he twisted his knee a little bit, so he's doubtful. "We've had a lot of setbacks already, but it's football, that's why you get the players in, that's why you bolster your squad."
