Rangers ace Madjid Bougherra looks on the brink of moving to Lekhwiya, after the Qatar club revealed a deal was close.
Lekhwiya have already had one bid rejected for the 28-year-old Algerian defender, but now they appear to be closing on a £3million deal.
Bougherra will play for Rangers in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Malmo on Wednesday, after which he is expected in the Gulf to complete his move.
Lekhwiya's sporting director Billel Walid Al Hatmi told the Daily Record: "We have reached agreement with Rangers but still have a couple of minor details to sort out with Madjid. God willing, this transfer will go though in the next few days.
"The deal is not quite official but it will be soon.
"Any small details that still have to be sorted are not big enough to prevent the transfer from happening.
"I expect the transfer to be concluded before the end of the week."
