Watford captain John Eustace has signed a two-year contract extension at Vicarage Road.
The 31-year-old midfielder's previous deal was due to expire next summer and Derby were reported to be showing interest after he spent time on loan at Pride Park two years ago.
Eustace moved to Vicarage Road from Stoke for £250,000 in 2008 and has made 119 appearances for the Hornets, scoring 12 goals.
He grabbed Watford's first goal of last season in their surprise opening-day win at Norwich and went on to make 42 appearances, netting six times.
A short statement on Watford's official website read: "The Hornets are delighted to announce that captain John Eustace has extended terms on his current contract until summer 2013."
