Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is close to securing a switch to Roma, according to his agent.
The Holland No.1 has been linked with a move to the Serie A side for some time, with his contract in Amsterdam set to expire next summer.
Negotiations have been progressing smoothly and his representative, Franco Parisi, believes a deal could be close.
Roma were told to increase their offer of €5million (£4.4m) late last week and reports in Italy suggest they have now made an improved bid in the region of €8m (£7m).
"We are working to close the differences," Parisi told Romanews.eu.
"The matter must be sorted within the next 24 hours. If it isn't an agreement may never arrive."
