R's boss delighted to add experienced stopper to squad

QPR manager Neil Warnock believes the capture of Danny Gabbidon will provide his defence with some much-needed experience. The Rs are preparing for their first season of Premier League football since being relegated way back in the 1995/96 campaign. Although the Londoners took the Championship by storm last time around, Warnock was keen to add some top-flight nous to his squad. Warnock was pleased with the ex-West Ham man's attitude in training and hopes the 31-year-old can reinvigorate his career at Loftus Road.

Experience

"He's impressed me in the last 10 days or so that he's been training with us," Warnock told the club's official website. "I think he's just the type of player we need - a quality defender with plenty of experience. "I hope I can reinvigorate his career, because a couple of years ago I thought he was one of the best defenders in the country."
