Lee Barnard has agreed a new three-year deal at Southampton, keeping him at the club until 2014.

Barnard helped to fire the Saints to promotion back into the Championship last season, bagging 15 goals along the way.

He was at his most prolific in March and April, as he notched six goals in seven starts as Nigel Adkins' side began to push for the line.

The 26-year-old has formed a prolific partnership with fellow frontman Rickie Lambert since moving to St Mary's from Southend in 2010.

An injury picked up against Bristol Rovers curtailed his season last time around, but he is set to be available from the start in 2011/12.
