Hearts director Sergejus Fedotovas believes talks to extend Rudi Skacel's contract are close to being finalised.
The Czech winger is out of contract at the end of the month, although the Tynecastle side do have an option of another year.
There had been lingering doubts over Skacel's future, with the midfielder believed to want to stay in Edinburgh but on improved terms.
However, Fedotovas insists things are progressing and that he hopes the 32-year-old's future will be resolved in the coming days.
"We're going to extend the contract with Rudi. We've had discussions with him and it appears to be finalised," explained Fedotovas.
"When Rudi joined he signed a contract with the option of another year so officially he doesn't need to sign anything but I hope this will all be resolved in the coming days.
"This is a piece of good news for the club and we're really happy to be keeping a player like him."
