Barcelona star Lionel Messi is excited for the possible arrival of winger Alexis Sanchez from Udinese.
The sought-after Chile international has been strongly linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer, with Barca thought to be on the brink of completing a deal for the 22-year-old
And Argentina ace Messi believes he would add further quality to the European and Primera Liga champions.
"I know that Alexis Sanchez is a great player," said Messi in Gazzetta dello Sport.
"It would be without a doubt a sensational signing and it would be a great reinforcement for us."
Sanchez, who is under contract with Udinese until June 2014, is also a reported target of Manchester City.
Messi and Sanchez are currently competing in the Copa America with their respective countries.
