Liverpool striker Dani Pacheco's potential loan move to Coventry has fallen through.
The 20-year-old Spaniard spent time on loan at promoted Norwich last season, scoring against the Sky Blues on the final day of the campaign.
City looked to have wrapped up a deal for Pacheco but that has now collapsed, with Liverpool wanting the highly-rated youngster to remain closer to Merseyside.
Manager Andy Thorn was disappointed to miss out on the striker, but is already looking at other options.
He told the Coventry Telegraph: "We thought we had him in the bag but these things happen.
"But that's the type of quality we are looking at and now we are waiting on a couple of players from Premier League clubs, but we will have to wait another 10 or 12 days before we get answers as to whether we can take them on loan."
