Burnley manager Eddie Howe has confirmed he is hoping to add former Bournemouth goalkeeper Jon Stewart to his squad.
Howe signed Stewart for Bournemouth last summer and the 22-year-old made five appearances for the Cherries before his contract was terminated in April.
He could now be offered the opportunity to become Burnley's third-choice keeper as Howe wants to increase the pressure on Lee Grant and Brian Jensen.
"We know John from our time at Bournemouth," said Howe after the 4-2 pre-season victory over Altrincham.
"He hasn't had a lot of first-team action in terms of professional games but he's someone we really like.
"He would come in with a view to being our No.3 because I think we need one."
