The former Wimbledon trainee has started 89 of a possible 96 games since moving to the Madejski Stadium.

And last season he scored four goals from 40 league games to help Reading reach the Championship play-off final.

"This is a very important signing for us and we are very pleased," director of football Nick Hammond told the club's official website.

Very experienced

"Jobi is a very experienced player, he performs week-in week-out and the number of games he has played is a great credit to him.

"He's not just an important player to us, he is also a great individual, an excellent example to our younger players and very important to the group as a whole."
