Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has played down the possibility of Craig Bellamy returning to the club next season.
Bellamy has been linked with a permanent move to the Cardiff City Stadium after spending last season on loan with the Bluebirds.
The Wales striker still has a year to run on his contract with parent club Manchester City but is unlikely to feature in Roberto Mancini's Premier League plans next term.
Mackay has not ruled out a deal but insists 31-year-old Bellamy must first sort out his future at Eastlands.
He told talkSPORT: "I know Craig well. We've known each other for a long time because we played together at Norwich.
"He's a smashing guy and he's somebody who I know trains hard and works really well in games.
"But he is a Manchester City player at the end of the day and he still has a year left on his contract.
"Until Craig and Man City discuss his future there is not any point in us speculating on anything."
