Skysports.com can reveal South African defender Morgan Gould is set to go on trial with Crystal Palace.
Gould currently plays for SuperSport United, who have confirmed the 28-year-old is awaiting a permit to travel to London.
The centre-half, who missed last year's World Cup through injury, is hoping to link up with Dougie Freedman's squad next week as he tries to win a move to the Championship club.
"I can confirm that Crystal Palace would like to have a look at Morgan Gould on trial," SuperSport's chief operations officer Jose Ferreira told skysports.com.
"At this stage we have only just received the invitation so all the logistics still need to be decided.
"That will all be decided over the next few days as we wait for him to get a permit to travel to the UK."
Gould has forced his way back into the Bafana Bafana set-up in recent months and would qualify for a work permit in the UK having won a total of 16 caps so far.
If he does sign for Palace, Gould would join compatriot Kagisho Dikgacoi at Selhurst Park after the midfielder completed his transfer from Fulham on Monday.
However, Ferreira warned there is also serious interest in Gould from Russia, adding: "There has been other interest in him from one or two in clubs in Russia but Morgan has said previously that he would prefer to play in England."
