Israeli striker Ben Sahar has joined Auxerre on a season-long loan from Spanish outfit Espanyol.
Having struggled to make an impact in Spain, the 21-year-old is set to spend a second consecutive campaign away from Catalunya.
He took in a spell with Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2010/11, and returned to something like his best form.
A productive stint in his homeland saw him plunder 16 goals in 34 matches.
Talented
Auxerre, who have the option to make the move permanent next summer, are hoping Sahar can produce more of the same in France.
They have described Sahar as a 'talented young player' and claim he is 'considered as one of the stars of the future in Israeli football'.
Sahar, who moved to Espanyol in 2009 after failing to make the breakthrough at Chelsea, is the youngest goalscorer in his country's history and has won 24 international caps.
He becomes Auxerre's fourth signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of Rudy Haddad, Omar Kossoko and Issam Jemaa.
