Manager Micky Adams has swooped to bring four new players to Port Vale ahead of the new season.
Kingsley James and Phil Roe, who Adams became familiar with during his recent spell with Sheffield United, have signed 12-month and six-month contracts respectively.
Defender Clayton McDonald, meanwhile, has also agreed a six-month stay following his release from Walsall while left-back Mike Green has penned a two-year deal after moving from Zamaretto Premier side AFC Totton.
Adams said: "These are young players who I feel can add something to the squad next season."
Furthermore, midfielder Gary Roberts has signed a new one-year deal.
