Gennaro Gattuso has denied he is considering leaving AC Milan to move to Russia this summer.

On Thursday his agent, Andrea D'Amico, was reported as saying that Gattuso would be open to playing in the Russian Premier League next season.

Last month the 33-year-old midfielder turned down an offer from Dagestan-based Anzhi Makhachkala.

And the former Italy international, who has been with Milan since 1999, insists he still has no intention of leaving the San Siro.

Happy

"I have one year left on my contract with Milan," he said. "Milan is my home and I feel very happy in this club.

"My agent cannot decide on his own, everything has to go via me.

"I reiterate it, I am happy at Milan."

Gattuso made 31 league appearances last season to help the Rossoneri clinch the Scudetto for the first time since 2004.

The former Rangers man has played over 300 games for Milan since joining from Salernitana in 1999.

He also made 73 international appearances for Italy before retiring from international duty following last year's World Cup.
