Skysports.com understands Huddersfield have opened talks with Gary Roberts over a new deal at the Galpharm Stadium.
Roberts is entering the final year of his contract and the League One club are keen to tie him down to a new long-term agreement.
The 27-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Terriers since his arrival from Ipswich in the summer of 2008.
Roberts, who has made over 100 appearances for the club, is thought to be happy in West Yorkshire and is ready to pledge his long-term future to Huddersfield.
Terriers boss Lee Clark is keen to keep hold of Roberts as he looks to build a side capable of winning promotion next season.
