Former Blackpool man moves to Crown Ground

Accrington Stanley have signed former Blackpool defender Danny Coid on a free transfer. Coid left Blackpool earlier this summer after seeing out his contract at Bloomfield Road. The 29-year-old, who had a spell on loan at Rotherham last season, has signed a one-year deal at the Crown Ground. Coid was happy to make the move to the League Two club after admitting Accrington's style of play played a big part in his decision to move. "I'm really pleased to be here," Coid told the club's official website. "The style of football that they play was a big attraction. I watched them in the play-offs and saw some of the goals they scored on the telly which showed me that they had a good team. "A few people recommended for me to come here and the setup is similar to Blackpool's so I'm used to that."
