Skysports.com understands Gillingham are closing in on the signing of AFC Wimbledon striker Danny Kedwell.
The Dons skipper is looking to leave the League Two new boys and handed in a transfer request earlier this month.
Kedwell scored 24 goals last season, along with the winning penalty in the play-off final shoot-out against Luton.
Crawley and Gillingham have both expressed an interest in the 27-year-old, but it appears the latter are winning the race for his services.
Kedwell, who was born in Gillingham, is keen to make the move to his hometown side and a fee is believed to have been agreed between both clubs.
Gillingham are now keen to push through a deal to add Kedwell to their ranks ahead of returning to pre-season training.
