Emilio Izaguirre is planning to stay at Celtic despite receiving an offer from Manchester United.

The Honduran defender revealed on Saturday that the Red Devils were keen to snap him up following an impressive debut season in British football.

Having been drafted in by Celtic last summer, Izaguirre shone for the Parkhead outfit en route to picking up multiple Player of the Year awards.

Such fine form drew admiring glances from Old Trafford, with Sir Alex Ferguson of the opinion that the 25-year-old would be a useful addition to his Red Devils ranks.

Izaguirre is prepared to snub United's interest, though, in favour of honouring his contract at Celtic.

"It is true that there were offers from Manchester United and other clubs. But I don't think anything will happen."
