Lee Bradbury is waiting for AFC Wimbledon's response to Bournemouth's improved bid for Steven Gregory after also agreeing a fee for a Championship defender.
Skysports.com revealed on Friday evening that the Cherries had increased their offer for Gregory after an initial bid was turned down.
The Dons were initially not expecting Bournemouth to return with another bid for Gregory and are now considering the offer for the midfielder.
Cherries boss Bradbury also confirmed the League One club are planning to hold talks with a mystery defender after having an offer accepted.
"We have put in an improved bid for Steven Gregory at Wimbledon and we are waiting now to hear back from Wimbledon tomorrow (Monday) morning," Bradbury told the club's official website.
"We have also agreed a fee for a Championship centre-half and I am looking to have talks with the player in the next couple of days."
