Crystal Palace assistant manager Lennie Lawrence admits the club are tracking Huddersfield's Jordan Rhodes.
The Terriers striker hit 22 goals last season despite limited starts and has drawn plenty of admiring glances from afar.
With Huddersfield having come up short in the League One play-offs in 2010/11, speculation has mounted that he could soon be on his way to the Championship.
Palace are among those keen to bring him on board, with Dougie Freedman in the market for a proven goalscorer.
Rhodes would fit that bill and Lawrence has revealed that the club are considering an approach for the talented 21-year-old.
He told the Croydon Advertiser : "Jordan Rhodes is on the radar, but it won't be until we get back from holiday that I will find out how much that has been brought forward.
"We are still looking at him and there might possibly be a deal."
