Skysports.com understands Shrewsbury have won the race to sign former Aldershot striker Marvin Morgan.
Morgan, who ended last season on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge, is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Aldershot.
Up to 15 clubs from League One and League Two expressed an interest in signing the powerful forward, but it appears Shrewsbury have won the chase for his signature.
Morgan's arrival will help fill the void left by Matt Harrold's departure at the Greenhous Meadow.
The deal is a boost for Shrews boss Graham Turner as he looks to build a side capable of winning promotion from League Two next season.
