Skysports.com understands that Brighton are lining up a move for Ipswich striker Jason Scotland.
The 32-year-old played 45 matches for the Portman Road club last season, scoring 10 goals, having arrived from Wigan last August.
But Scotland was a signing of former boss Roy Keane, who was sacked in January and subsequently succeeded by Paul Jewell.
Jewell was prepared to allow Scotland to return to former club Swansea in the winter, but a deal could not be agreed.
Ipswich are still willing to listen to enquiries and Championship new-boys Brighton are preparing to make a move.
