Hannover have signed former Germany international Christian Pander from Schalke.
Pander will be reunited with former Schalke boss Mirko Slomka after signing a one-year deal at Hannover.
Hannover sporting director Joerg Schmadtke welcomed the arrival of Pander, who won two caps for Germany in 2007, as the club looks to build its squad ahead of their return to Europe next season.
"Christian will provide experience that will help the club next season," Schmadtke told the club's official website.
"He has demonstrated his class at this level many times.
"Our coach Mirko Slomka already knows him from his time at Schalke and he will be able to fit into our system perfectly."
Hannover finished fourth in the Bundesliga table last season to earn a place in the Europa League.
