Eagles have no plans to swoop for out-of-contract frontman

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman has dismissed reports linking him with a move for Robert Earnshaw. The 30-year-old Wales striker is a free agent after being released by Nottingham Forest and has been linked with an imminent move to Selhurst Park. Freedman admits he is scouring the market for potential new recruits and accepts that speculation will intensify as the summer progresses. He has, however, moved to distance himself from the rumours regarding Earnshaw, with there no plans to make an approach for the experienced frontman.

No truth

Freedman told News Shopper: "There's no truth in that yet. "There are a lot of names in the hat but he's not one." Freedman has already snapped up former Brighton forward Glenn Murray for nothing and has another couple of potential free agents in his sights. "I have got two or three free transfers lined up that will hopefully come off," he added.
