Skysports.com understands that Football League new-boys Crawley Town have launched a bid for Macclesfield ace Tyrone Barnett.
The 25-year-old had spent most of his career in non-league football before the Silkmen signed him from Hednesford last year.
Barnett scored 13 goals in his first full season last term and he is now attracting a great deal of interest from League One and Two.
Crawley boss Steve Evans is determined to make a big impact next season and Barnett has emerged as one of his top targets.
Skysports.com understands that Crawley have already made contact with Macclesfield.
But Macclesfield look set to fight to keep Barnett by offering him fresh terms.
