Birmingham City have confirmed Alex McLeish's departure will not impact on their deal to sign Morgaro Gomis.
The French-born Senegalese midfielder is a free agent this summer with his Dundee United contract due to expire.
Former Blues boss McLeish targeted the 25-year-old prior to tendering his resignation over the weekend.
The Scottish tactician's exit was thought to have impacted upon Blues' move, reports they have now swiftly played down.
"Gomis is still coming in to Birmingham," acting chairman Peter Pannu confirmed.
