Dutch giants Ajax are considering a summer swoop for Crystal Palace starlet Nathaniel Clyne,

The Amsterdam outfit are facing up to the prospect of losing their own outstanding young right-back Gregory van der Wiel, with both Chelsea and Bayern Munich said to be lining up bids.
With that in mind, Ajax are looking at alternatives and they have turned their attention to England youth ace Clyne, and they could look to beat a number of Premier League clubs to his signature.
Ajax are believed to have been tipped off about Clyne by former Eagle Edgar Davids, who joined their supervisory board earlier this summer.
Clyne, 20, has 12 months left on his current deal at Selhurst Park, and the Eagles board are set to listen to offers because the funds raised would allow them to carry out major surgery on the squad.
Contract
The pacey full-back's advisors have made it clear to the Championship outfit that their client will not be extending his stay at Selhurst Park.
Palace would be due compensation if Clyne's contract runs down and he joins an English team - but that rule does not apply if he moved abroad.
In that situation the Eagles would only get training costs - which work out at €90,000 for each year they have been at a club and he joined Palace at the age of 14, so that means they would receive only around £500,000.
Clyne has been selected by England for the Under 20 World Cup in Colombia and is set to hook up with the squad in mid-July before the tournament starts at the end of the month. If the young Three Lions go all the way then he will not return until after the final in Bogota on 20th August.
The likelihood is that his future will be resolved before he jets off to the competition.
Clyne was an ever-present for Palace last season, playing every single minute, and won the Player of the Year award on the way to clocking up his 100th appearance in a red and blue shirt.
